Santa Barbara Street Walkin'

My family took a spontaneous day trip to Santa Barbara yesterday. Let me tell you, an afternoon drive on the 101 paralleling the Pacific Ocean is something I think everyone should experience at some point in their life. The weather has been so nice lately in Southern California and it makes me so grateful to be able to live here. After visiting the Santa Barbara zoo, something randomly on my mother's bucket list, we walked around State Street. Of course, I took advantage of this photo opportunity to shoot my new boots! These knee high boots are the Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots and I have been coveting them for so long now. Somehow, I managed to get these boots for under $100 while sacrificing the comfort of my feet. I had to go down a half size, but my feet will just have to deal with it.
For my outfit, I started off with a black sweater from ASOS which has a strap cross back. Due to the warm weather, I wore the sweater over a simple burgundy skirt from Brandy Melville. I kept accessories simple as usual with just some gold jewelry.
Hope you all have a fun and safe New Years! Thank you for reading my blog this year and cheers to more posts in 2014.

Men's Fashion: Part 2

For those of you who saw my last men's fashion feature, this guy will look familiar. Brandon and I shot two looks in one day because he just has such an extensive wardrobe. We shot this look in the Venice beach canals and I thought it was such a cool location!
I would say the main feature of this look is his blazer by John Varvatos. The color is so on point for fall/winter! He then layered a collared shirt from Topman under a crew neck from Gap. I love the collar on the shirt and it definitely adds a lot to the look. His pants are by Joe's Jeans and the glasses are classic Ray Ban Clubmasters. His boots are by Timberland and Brandon says the mud further accessorizes the look. Clearly, he know what he is talking about.
I hope you enjoyed this collaboration and I would definitely love to feature Brandon on here again! Enjoy your holiday season. xx

Thanksgiving Chic

I shot this look in the midst of my men's fashion shoot featuring my friend Brandon. If you didn't see that check it out here, and part 2 is going to be posted very soon. While we were shooting, someone asked us if we were having an engagement photo shoot... the matching outfits were definitely unintentional and we thought that was so funny! Anyways, for this look I wore a corduroy circle skirt from American Apparel. I love corduroy in the fall and the burgundy color is one of my favorites. I paired the skirt with a cropped sweater from Urban Outfitters. Of course, I topped it off with my favorite black booties by Jeffrey Campbell and gold jewelry.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! :)

Men's Fashion: Part 1

So here is something new…meet my friend Brandon! He is being featured on the blog today in my first ever men's fashion post. Brandon is one of the most fashion forward guys I know, and I love the way these photos turned out. We shot two looks this day, so look out for one more men's fashion post soon!
Brandon styled this look featuring warmer colors for fall. He started off with a basic flannel from Target and paired a khaki blazer with it. His pants are by Paige and are more of a burnt orange, but they show up red in photos. For more of a rustic look he wore brown boots by Frye, and accessorized with Ray Ban Sunglasses and an Armani watch.
Hope you guys enjoy this post! Special thanks to Brandon for letting me feature him.

It's Beginning To Feel Like Fall

(we experienced a minor bird attack)
The weather in LA has taken a sharp turn and we are experiencing a minor version of fall. But, it's pretty exciting for me because I finally got to wear these pants. These babies are so comfortable and I just love the print! I paired them with a basic chiffon blouse and layered a denim shirt tied around my waist, both from Urban Outfitters. Again, I would just like to talk about my boots. These booties have lived on my feet for the past couple weeks and I love them so much I had to take a couple shots of just them.
I have been busy with classes and midterms, so I apologize for the lack of blog posts. I wanted to share this quote I got from my Philosophy class recently; I think it can apply to so many different situations. I loved it even more because I find my Philosophy professor to be incredibly attractive.

"The beauty of an innocent victim's soul is untarnished by the evil done to her. Her life is worth living even if she suffers horribly. Even though she may not feel beautiful, she is beautiful, and the value of that beauty trumps whatever pain she may feel."

This Isn't My Boyfriend's Blazer

Funny story about this blazer...a while ago my friends and I went to some sample sales, and after unsuccessfully hitting the sales, we stopped by Goodwill. I found this Topshop gem for $3! Well it was actually $6, but they were having a 50% off sale. One trip to the dry cleaners later, and I have the perfect, loosely fit, "boyfriend blazer". I dressed down this blazer for a day of class with my favorite denim shorts and a t-shirt by Mason Scotch. Whenever I wear this shirt, people always ask me who the girl is. To be honest, I have no idea who the girl is.
I was also so excited to run into Alex, from hrhcollection, while she was taking photos! It was so nice to meet her and I have some serious bag envy over that Celine purse.

PS, special thanks to my friend Danica for taking the photos.
