Warm Tones

This look incorporates a lot of my favorite, go-to pieces. Though it may be casual, this is something I would wear as just an "everyday" look for running errands and what not. In fact, that is precisely what I wore this look for. I tell you, I live a glamorous life.
The skinny jeans are a dark wash pair from Zara and I paired them with my trusty Jeffrey Campbell booties. If you are going to wear booties with skinny jeans, you cannot forget to cuff them! You will not believe what a difference cuffing your jeans makes for an outfit. Free People has a really great line of tank tops recently and this black one goes with basically everything. They offer different styles that all just seem to be the perfect cut and I'm tempted to fill my closet with a couple more. When the weather is appropriate, I love topping off any look with a cardigan. This warm-toned cardigan is from Urban Outfitters and it fit my warm and cozy qualifications for a cardigan well. The accessories are nothing new - just my standard Daniel Wellington watch, Alex & Ani bracelets, and the TOMS Yvette tortoise shell frames. The bag is an old Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip but I have recently revisited it after doubling up the chain. I've been enjoying wearing it this way opposed to wearing it crossbody just because I think it's something different. If you are getting bored of an item, there is always a way to update it slightly and make it new again. Hope you enjoy.

Disposables: Spring 2015

Disposable cameras are so fun to me because they are easy and you just never know what kind of photo you are going to get. My friends and I love bringing disposable cameras along whatever we do so I thought I would share some of them with you. These photos were all taken at Weekend 1 of Coachella, in Joshua Tree National Park, and on a road trip I took with friends up the California coast. The road trip was definitively a highlight of Spring 2015 for me. We started in Los Angeles and went up the coast making stops in Santa Barbara, Solvang, San Luis Obispo, Cambria, Hearst Castle, Big Sur, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and Berkeley. It was a long trip of cheap motels and lots of driving but doing it with friends was so much fun and I am always impressed with the beauty of California. Hope you enjoy looking at all these photos as I know they will bring up a lot of fun memories for me when I revisit them in the future.

Lipsticks of the moment

I'm not sure what it is but there is just something so nice about getting a new lipstick. I recently picked up a couple so I thought I would make a quick post about some of my favorite lipstick shades of the moment. From top to bottom pictured is: Lady Danger by MAC, Anna from the NARS Audacious Lipstick range, and Cherish by MAC. Lady Danger is a beautiful, rich red with orange undertones. That is what makes this one so special - the orange undertones make it something different in my collection and I can't wait to wear it this summer. Lady Danger is a matte finish in the MAC range so it is rich in pigment but I don't find it as drying as other matte lipsticks. Anna is a deep pink shade with purple undertones. The finish is more of a satin and it looks really nice over Whirl lipliner, one of my other favorites. Cherish is a darker nude shade, nowhere near the intensity of Myth. The pigmentation isn't quite as strong as the others but it is easily build-able and gives me the perfect nude lips! I will try and wear these in future outfit posts so you can see how they wear. That's all for now!

In Between

Well, another semester of school went by and I further neglected my blog. I took these photos on my first summer activity - my friend Mac and I went to Alfred's on Melrose for good coffee and some laptop time. We are both feeling inspired to really utilize these little online platforms of ours. I have some unconventional posts lined up but I am really looking forward to putting more of myself into this site.
~
In between - the state I am finding myself in right now. As a college student, I am constantly undergoing change. I just finished my second year at school and I am heading to Florence in the fall for a study abroad program. I said goodbye to a position I held all year, said "see you later" to friends I will not see until January, and I went back home to work on myself this summer. The weather is also reflecting an "in between" state lately. The mildly warm weather called for something easy and breezy: these pants. Not only did I feel like I was wearing pajamas in this outfit, but it was the perfect outfit to throw on for an afternoon sitting at a coffee shop. It was comfortable and slightly unflattering, just the way I like it. These pants are from Brandy Melville and the top is from Zara. The sandals and the over-worn fringe bag were last minute additions that completed the look according to my standards. My go-to shades lately have been my TOMS Yvette frames. That pretty much sums it up! Talk to you soon.
